Australia have announced its squad for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup starting 3 October 2024 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Preparation ahead of the World Cup
Cricket Australia have announced that the team will take on New Zealand in a three-match T20I series in Mackay and Brisbane before travelling to the UAE to defend their World Cup crown.
About the upcoming World Cup
A total of 10 participants are ready for the tournament which will have 23 matches in total. The ten teams are divided into two groups.
Group A:
- Australia
- India
- New Zealand
- Pakistan
- Sri Lanka
Group B:
- Bangladesh
- England
- Scotland
- South Africa
- West Indies
Top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage set to happen from 17 October 2024.
Warm-up matches of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup:
Before the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, the participating nations will compete in ten warm-up matches, which are scheduled to be played from 27 September to 1 October 2024. These matches will not have either Women’s Twenty20 International (WT20I) status or WT20 status.
Venue details of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup:
In July 2022, BCB confirmed that two venues, Dhaka and Sylhet would host the matches. Dhaka was to host the final, although Sylhet was originally meant to host the finals. Later, in August 2024, ICC announced that the United Arab Emirates will host the Women’s T20 World Cup instead of Bangladesh although the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will continue to host the event. The matches are scheduled to be played at Dubai and Sharjah.
