Pakistan announced its squad for historic women’s T20I games against Ireland: Fatima Sana returns to the national squad

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced its 15-members women’s squad for historic games against Ireland.

The 15-player T20I squad unveiled today by the Pakistan national women’s team’s chief selector Asmavia Iqbal has two replacements in the squad Pakistan had in the recent ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup where they were able to reach the semi-final of the tournament played in October 2022.

The squad announced today includes the comeback of Fatima Sana who was ruled out of the ACC Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2022 and Javeria Khan who last played from Pakistan in the T20I format in July of 2021, against West Indies.

The 15-player T20I squad announced today by the Pakistan Cricket Board consists of:
Bismah Maroof ©, Aimen Anwar, Aliya Riaz, Ayesha Naseem, Fatima Sana, Javeria Khan, Kainat Imtiaz, Muneeba Ali (wk), Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Nashra Sandhu, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin and Tuba Hassan

Pakistan Cricket Board have placed Ghulam Fatima, Sidra Nawaz and Umm-e-Hani as the reserve players for the series.

The T20I series will follow the 3 matches ODI series and be played in the same venue as the ODI series, which is Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. All the matches will start at 10 am local time.

The T20I series will run from 12 November to 16 November, following the ODI series to happen from 4 November to 9 November.

The T20I series consists of 3 matches that will be played on the 12th, 14th and 16th of November 2022.

Meanwhile, Ireland Cricket had already announced its squad for the historic visit to Pakistan. Laura Delany will be leading the Irish women’s team against Pakistan.

Laura Delany ©, Amy Hunter, Shauna Kavanagh, Arlene Kelly, Gaby Lewis, Louise Little, Sophie MacMahon, Jane Maguire, Cara Murray, Leah Paul, Orla Prendergast, Celeste Raack, Eimear Richardson, Rebecca Stokell and Mary Waldron.

Both Pakistan and Ireland have planned to run 4 days training camp each for their teams after they arrive in Lahore on the 25th and 29th of October 2022, respectively.
