Bahrain wins the Malaysia Quadrangular T20 Series 2022

Malaysia Quadrangular T20 Series 2022 had its final match today where Bahrain secured the series title with a 6-wicket win over the next finalist Malaysia.

In the final match of the series, Malaysia won the toss and elected to bat first in the game. Batting first in the game, they made 153/9 in 20 overs which was chased down by Bahrain in 19.4 overs as they scored 156/4. Bahrain won the series title with the win over Malaysia in the final match of the series.

Batting first, Malaysia made 153 runs at the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs. Ahmad Zubaidi Zulkifle played an inning of 34 runs off 19 balls to become the top run scorer for Malaysia in the match.

Sarfraz Ali took 4 wickets from Bahrain’s side. Imran Javed Anwar, Muhammad Rizwan Butt and Waseeq Ahmed took 2, 1 and 1 wickets respectively for the team. Bahrain conceded 14 extras to Malaysia while bowling in the game.

The 3rd place play-off match of the series was also played today between Singapore and Qatar where Qatar won the rain-affected game by 9 wickets. The match was played with a maximum of 18 overs an inning, based upon the D/L method.

Singapore made 164/6 batting first in the game after Qatar won the toss and elected to bowl first in the game. Chasing the target, Qatar made 165/1 in 14 overs and won the game by 9 wickets.

Manpreet Singh and Aman Desai from Singapore found a half-centry knocks for themselves. Manpreet played an inning of 71 runs in 33 balls while Aman Desai played an inning of 57 runs in 43 balls.

Mohammad Ikramullah, Gayan Buddika and Mohammad Nadeem were able to take wickets in the game from Qatar’s side. They took 3, 2 and 1 wickets respectively.

Qatar started their inning with Kamran Khan and Imal Malindu Liyanage. While Kamran made 36(19) in the game, Imal played an inning of 50*(41) and Mohammad Rizlan played a not-out inning of 72(25) in the match.

Janak Prakash was the only bowler from Singapore to take a wicket in the game.

Mohammad Rizlan was declared the player of the match. He had played an inning of 72 runs in 25 balls in the game.
