On the third day of the inaugural edition of the Nepal T20 League, Far West United and Janakpur Royals could add two points each in the league’s points table after their win over Kathmandu Knights and Biratnagar Super Kings respectively.
The day’s first game was between Kathmandu Knights and Far West United, where Far West United won the toss and elected to field first in the game.
Batting first, Kathmandu Knights made 98/9 in 20 overs with Alex Blake being the top run scorer for the team with 45 not-out runs off 37 balls.
Umar Ali, Bhuvan Karki, Hashmatullah Shahidi and Sher Malla took 3, 2, 2 and 1 wickets respectively for Far West United to help the team restrict Kathmandu Knights below 100 runs.
With Hashmatullah Shahidi making 50 not-out runs off 49 balls, Far West United scored 102 runs losing 6 wickets to win the low-scored game in 19.1 overs.
For Kathmandu Knights, Anil Kharel took two wickets while Azmatullah Omarzai, Ryan Burl, Basir Ahamad and Abinash Bohara took a wicket each for the team.
Far West United won the game by 4 wickets.
Hashmatullah Shahidi was the Player Of The Match. He played an inning of 50*(49) in batting and had a figure of 4-0-15-2 in bowling.
The second match of the day was between Biratnagar Super Kings and Janakpur Royals where Biratnagar Super Kings won the toss and elected to bat first.
Batting first, Biratnagar Super Kings made a total of 140 runs at the loss off all of their wickets in 19.5 overs. Sikandar Raza was the highest run scorer for the team with 38 runs off 18 balls.
Lalit Rajbanshi took a five-wicket haul in the game from Janakpur Royal’s side. Mohammad Aadil Alam, Kesrick Williams and Sompal Kami took 2, 2 and 1 wickets respectively to help the team restrict Biratnagar Super Kings to 140 runs.
Janakpur Royals made a total of 141 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs to win the game by 5 wickets. Chadwick Walton made 69 not-out runs in 55 balls and was the top run scorer for the team in the game.
Hussain Talat, Nandan Yadav and Rijan Dhakal took a wicket each in the game for Biratnagar Super Kings.
Lalit Rajbanshi was the Player Of The Match for his five-wicket haul in the game with 4-1-8-5 as the overall bowling figure for him.
