The fifth venue for the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8 has been ruled out as Quetta will no longer host any matches. According to a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official, all efforts to organize some of the PSL matches at the Bugti Stadium in Quetta failed due to various reasons, with the primary reason being the extreme weather conditions in the city.

The official stated that the PCB sent a special team to Quetta to make special arrangements for organizing some of the PSL matches there, but after holding meetings with all the related stakeholders in Quetta, it was concluded that it would not be possible to organize matches in the city.

However, the official expressed hope that warm-up or exhibition matches could be organized at the venue, with the plan that from next year onward, Quetta would become a permanent venue for the PSL. The official stated that they believe that PSL nine matches could well be organized in Quetta in an effective and professional way, and they are planning to kick-start the preparations in the early stages.

The PCB official also mentioned that they are planning to hold some of the PSL 9 matches in Peshawar next year. The PSL 2023 matches, starting in February, will now be held at four venues: Lahore, Karachi, Multan and Rawalpindi. This year’s PSL will be played at four venues instead of the planned five venues.

This change in plans for the PSL venues may disappoint some fans in Quetta, but the PCB is looking forward to making a return to the city in the future. The PSL is a highly popular cricket league in Pakistan and fans from all over the country look forward to watching the tournament live.

The schedule for the PSL 8 is yet to be announced, but fans are eagerly waiting to mark the dates for their favorite matches and cheer for their team. With the tournament set to start in a few weeks, excitement levels are high and fans can’t wait to see the action unfold on the field.
