The HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) has had a profound impact on the players and the sport in the country. It has united millions of fans under the love for cricket and served as a platform for up-and-coming cricketers to showcase their talent alongside the best in the business.
Fakhar Zaman, Lahore Qalandars’ leading run-scorer from last year, attests to the benefits of participating in the HBL PSL. He believes that playing against legends like Chris Gayle and Kieron Pollard, as well as sharing the dressing room with big names like Brendon McCullum, has given him immense confidence.
“The HBL PSL is a great knowledge-sharing experience,” says Zaman. “When juniors share the dressing room with senior international cricketers, they learn tactics and pick up skills that they couldn’t otherwise.”
The eighth edition of the tournament, which kicks off on February 13 with the defending champions Lahore Qalandars taking on the hosts, Multan Sultans, presents a plethora of opportunities for the many cricketers participating in the country’s biggest cricketing event. They are eager to make the most of it.
