Smriti Mandhana to lead RCB in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) T20

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have announced today its captain for the Women’s Premier League (WPL). The Women’s Premier League is going to begin on 4 March 2023 and will run till 26 March 2023 in its inaugural edition.

For the Women’s Premier League (WPL) T20, RCB has announced Smriti Mandhana as the team captain. The announcement was made through a video shared on The Royal Challengers Bangalore’s social media handles, which had messages from Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis – the former and current captains of the men’s team.

Smriti Mandhana was the very first player to go under the hammer for the WPL Auction in the history and was the most expensive player in the inaugural auction of the WPL with RCB picking her for the maximum bid of INR 3.4 crore (USD 415,000 approx).
