The latest ICC T20I Players Rankings for Women’s cricket have seen several players rise through the ranks after their stellar performances in recent matches. Muneeba Ali, the Pakistan cricketer, who became the first woman from her country to score a T20I century, has moved up ten places to reach a career-best 64th position. Meanwhile, Nida Dar, who is an all-rounder for Pakistan, has climbed two places to 37th in the batters’ list and seven places to 16th among bowlers.
India’s wicketkeeper-batter, Richa Ghosh, has entered the top 20 rankings for the first time after impressing in recent matches. Her unbeaten knocks of 41 against the West Indies and 47 against England over the past week have lifted her 16 places to 20th position. With this ranking, she becomes the fifth Indian to feature in the top 20, joining the likes of Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Harmanpreet Kaur, who are ahead of her in the list.
New Zealand’s all-rounder, Amelia Kerr, has achieved a career-best ranking after her match-winning 66 against Sri Lanka at Paarl. Her incredible performance has helped her move up three places to reach the 13th position among bowlers, and she has also secured the 16th position overall. Additionally, Australia’s captain, Meg Lanning, who scored 48 not out against Bangladesh, has moved up one place to fourth. Meanwhile, former New Zealand captain Suzie Bates has climbed two places to sixth after scoring 81 not out against Bangladesh and 56 against Sri Lanka.
The bowling rankings have also witnessed a significant shift, with several players making their way into the top 10 for the first time. India’s Renuka Thakur’s incredible haul of five for 15 against England has helped her move up seven places to a career-best fifth position. New Zealand fast bowler Lea Tuhuhu has broken the 700-rating points barrier for the first time after taking eight wickets in four matches, moving up from 10th to seventh. Australia’s 19-year-old fast bowler, Darcie Brown, has entered the top 10 for the first time with her economical bowling, while West Indies captain, Hayley Matthews, is also in the top 10 after taking two for 14 against Pakistan.
The all-rounders’ list has also seen some changes, with Matthews and Kerr moving up a slot each to take the second and joint-third positions, respectively. Meanwhile, Nida Dar is fifth after moving up two places. In addition, several spinners have also advanced, with Sadia Iqbal of Pakistan moving up 13 places to 20th, Karishma Ramharack of the West Indies moving up 44 places to 28th, and Eden Carson of New Zealand moving up 14 places to 37th.
