Rilee Rossouw shines as Quetta Gladiators win
Quetta Gladiators win two in two, while Karachi Kings still searching for their first after losing two in two. 159 always looked 20 runs short and so it proved to be. Despite two wickets by Sohail Khan in the third over, Rilee Rossouw rallied on, stitching a 130-run stand with Sarfraz off 90 balls. Karachi needed more wickets upfront but Sohail Khan’s the only one who struck in the match for them.
After winning the toss Quetta Gladiators opted to field first. Karachi Kings with the help of Babar Azam’s 50 off 42 balls and little cameos from other batsmen put 159. Thisara Perera and Tymal Mills had bowling spells off 3 for 34 and 2 for 21 respectively.
Quetta’s innings jolted initially by Sohail Khan, when they were 30 for 3 in 5th over, there-after Sarfaraz and Rilee guided Quetta to another win. Both remained unbeaten on Sarfaraz (56 off 42) and Rilee Rossouw (76 off 53). Sohail took 3 wickets for 23 in his four overs.
Player of the Match was awarded to Rilee Rossouw on his brilliant batting.
