The third match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 concluded with Lucknow Super Giants finding a huge 50-run win over Delhi Capitals after they keep the Capitals away from reaching the target throughout the game.
Delhi Capitals had won the toss and elected to field first in the match.
Batting first, Lucknow Super Giants made a strong 193 runs in the first inning with Kyle Mayer’s 38-ball 73 runs innings. Nicholas Pooran was the player to score the second most runs for the team with 21-ball 36 runs. Ayush Badoni’s 7-ball 18 and Krishnappa Gowtham’s 1-ball 6 in the later part of the first inning helped the team close the inning with a solid target after other batter’s contributions already to have a high score on the board. LSG lost six wickets in the inning.
Khaleel Ahmed and Chetan Sakariya took two wickets each for Delhi Capitals while bowling in the match. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav joined the wicket-taking party with a wicket each. Delhi Capitals conceded eight extras to Lucknow Super Giants in the match while bowling.
Delhi Capitals who started the second inning of the match with Prithvi Shaw and David Warner lost Prithvi Shaw off 12 runs in 9 balls. David Warner stayed in the crease for 16 overs before he was out by Avesh Khan in Gowtham’s catch in 15.6 overs for 56 runs in 48 deliveries. Rilee Rossouw was the second-most run scorer for the team in the match with 30 runs in 20 balls. Delhi Capital made 143/9 in 20 overs in the match.
Mark Wood took a fifer for Lucknow Super Giants in the match with Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi taking two wickets each in the LSG’s winning match over DC. LSG conceded ten extras to DC in the match while bowling.
Lucknow Super Giants won the match by 50 runs.
