The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has unveiled the official panel of match officials for the highly anticipated 2023-24 cricket season. This season marks a significant expansion, with regional and departmental teams making a comeback after four years. A total of around 200 First XI matches are scheduled for this season, a substantial increase from the 97 matches held in the previous season.
The PCB, recognizing the enhanced requirements, has taken steps to accommodate the increased workload by increasing the number of match officials in each category. This move aims to provide more opportunities to match officials within the current system and improve their earning potential. In addition, the PCB has raised the monthly retainers of the elite and supplementary panels by 20%, demonstrating its commitment to supporting match officials.
To further enhance the match officials’ experience, the PCB has also increased match fees, daily allowances, and retirement benefits by 20%.
