Renowned former all-rounder Shahid Khan Afridi has expressed his belief that Pakistan should fearlessly face India in Ahmedabad, Modi’s stadium during the upcoming ICC World Cup. In an interview with a local news channel, Afridi emphasized that achieving victory in front of a packed Indian crowd would make the triumph even more exhilarating.

Curiosity piqued, Afridi questioned why there seemed to be hesitations about playing on Ahmedabad pitches. He jokingly pondered whether they spewed fire or were haunted. He urged the Pakistani team to embrace the challenge and go out there to win. Afridi stressed that comprehensive triumphs were the only way to overcome anticipated difficulties.

The ultimate objective, he emphasized, was Pakistan’s success, and that should be the focus. He encouraged the team to approach the situation positively, highlighting the opportunity to display their prowess and claim victory in front of the passionate Indian spectators.

Initial reports suggested that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had reservations about playing their World Cup match against India at the Narendra Modi Stadium. However, according to a recent ESPNcricinfo report, the Pakistan versus India match is scheduled to take place in Ahmedabad. The report also outlined Pakistan’s World Cup fixtures, which include matches at various venues such as Hyderabad, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Kolkata.

The ICC World Cup is set to commence on October 5 with defending champions England facing off against the finalists of the previous edition, New Zealand.

As per the tentative schedule, Pakistan’s World Cup journey will kick off on October 6 with a match against a qualifier in Hyderabad. They will play another qualifier on October 12 in the same venue. The much-anticipated clash against India is scheduled for October 15 in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan will then face Australia in Bengaluru on October 20, followed by matches against Afghanistan, South Africa, Bangladesh, New Zealand, and England in Chennai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Kolkata, respectively.
