When will PSL 9 draft take place?

The anticipation for the ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is building up as the draft for this much-awaited event is slated to be held in December this year. According to insiders, the PSL 9 draft is penciled in for a window between December 12 and 14.

The excitement is set to follow the National T20 Cup, scheduled from December 1 to 9. Player registrations for the PSL Draft will kick off within the next two weeks, paving the way for the selection committee to renew player categories once the registration process concludes.

In a significant development, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had earlier confirmed the window for the 2024 edition of PSL. Scheduled between February 8 and March 24, 2024, the final schedule will be confirmed during upcoming meetings.

The upcoming season will feature six teams, with no addition of additional teams. Additionally, the PCB continues its commitment to promoting women’s cricket, exploring opportunities for women’s leagues or exhibition matches during the PSL.

For contingency planning, the PCB is actively working with franchises to identify alternative venues. Despite potential election-related concerns, PSL is expected to stay put in Pakistan, as all franchises have mutually agreed not to shift the league elsewhere. In the event of election-related disruptions, adjustments to the PSL schedule will be made to ensure the smooth running of the tournament.
