South Africa’s women’s cricket team is gearing up for a crucial three-match T20I series against Pakistan in Multan, set to take place from September 16 to 20. This tour comes as an essential preparatory step ahead of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup, with both teams eager to fine-tune their strategies before the global tournament.

T20I series against Pakistan will be South Africa’s last demo before World Cup in UAE

The South African squad is scheduled to arrive in Multan on September 13 and will leave for the UAE on September 21, just a day after the final T20I. This tour marks South Africa’s second visit to Pakistan in just over a year, reflecting the growing cricketing relationship between the two nations. The last tour saw a mixed outcome, with Pakistan winning the T20I series 3-0, while South Africa secured a 2-1 victory in the ODIs.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) Director Enoch Nkwe emphasized the importance of this series as a vital opportunity for match practice, especially with the World Cup fast approaching. The series is also seen as a significant step in promoting women’s cricket globally, providing a platform for players to showcase their talent and inspire the next generation of cricketers.

Both teams are placed in different groups for the World Cup, with Pakistan facing tough competition in Group A, while South Africa battle it out in Group B. As the cricketing world watches closely, this T20I series promises to be a competitive and thrilling prelude to the World Cup.
