The most significant technological innovation of cricket is set to be a part of the Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. All games will be officiated using Smart Replay Technology, which will happen for the first time an ICC event will be using this replay system. It brings forth accuracy levels it has never seen before in decision-making. The system had earlier been trialled with The Hundred and IPL 2024.

TV umpires will review Instant replays with multi-angle synchronic footage for faster and more accurate reviews. Here, the re-start operation of TV umpires directly works with two Hawk-Eye operators responsible for overseeing the review process.

Every game will have at least 28 cameras that shall provide far more visuals than ever seen before. High-speed cameras from Hawk-Eye at 300 frames per second will be used in order to improve stumpings through tri-vision footage of synchronized angles for critical judgments.

Another innovation is that the process for UltraEdge referral is also streamlined. If there is a visible gap between the bat and the ball, then UltraEdge will not be called by the TV umpire. This is in the overall scheme of saving review time.

Also, a women’s panel of umpires and match officials will be used like last year’s edition of the tournament. With this as well, women’s cricket will have made more progress.

With these breakthroughs, the 2024 women’s T20 World Cup will prove itself to be the best technological exhibition cricket has seen in a long time. The umpire’s decision will be much faster, clearer, and more accurate than ever.
