The Adelaide Strikers have secured the services of Big Bash League icon Chris Lynn for another season, with the power-hitter signing a one-year deal that keeps him available for the entire BBL|15 campaign, including finals.
Lynnsanity Returns to Adelaide Oval
Since joining the Strikers from Brisbane Heat in BBL|12, Lynn has become a fan favourite at Adelaide Oval. Renowned as the greatest batter in BBL history, his record speaks volumes: the competition’s all-time leader in runs and sixes, and a two-time Player of the Tournament.
Lynn has scored 950 runs for the Strikers, clearing the boundary 40 times, and has twice earned a place in the Team of the Tournament. His ability to flip a game in a matter of overs was highlighted again during the English T20 Blast, where he smashed an unbeaten 108 off 51 balls for Hampshire.
Experience and Leadership on Display
Beyond his explosive batting, Lynn has played a mentoring role within the Strikers’ setup, guiding younger players alongside coach Tim Paine.
“I’m really looking forward to getting back to Adelaide Oval and helping the team go deep into finals this year,” Lynn said. “We’ve got an exciting squad this season, and I can’t wait to see what we can produce when we take to the field on December 17.”
Coach Paine echoed the sentiment, stressing that Lynn’s presence extends far beyond his runs.
“While his batting exploits speak for themselves, his experience and leadership are equally invaluable,” Paine said. “I think I speak for all Strikers fans in welcoming him back – we can’t wait to see what he can produce in BBL|15.”
Strikers Strengthen Their Squad
Lynn’s extension follows the retention of English all-rounder Jamie Overton, who has committed for a third consecutive year after pausing his red-ball career. The Strikers have also locked in emerging domestic talents Liam Scott, Jason Sangha, and Mackenzie Harvey, signaling a strong mix of experience and youth ahead of BBL|15.
With more signings expected in the coming weeks, the Strikers look well-positioned for another finals push, powered by the return of “Lynnsanity.”
