Jaffna Stallions conquered the first LPL 2020 Fort, match highlights and report

Final Match of the Lanka Premier League 2020 played between Stallions and Gladiators. Jaffna Stallions won the final game and became champions of the league.

Batting first Jaffna posted a mammoth total of 186 for 6, thanks to a match-winning partnership of Malik and de Silva, both made a huge impact while batting in the first innings. At a time Jaffna were 76 for, from that moment Malik (46) and de Silva (33) put a good partnership and well supported by the blistering knock of the captain Thisara Perera 39 unbeaten.

In reply, Galle lost their three quick wickets, from there on they were unable to make a comeback in the game. They kept loosing wickets at regular intervals, only Rajapaksa with 40 and Azam Khan’s 36 presented some glimpses of the hopes for the team’s victory. Apart from them, Galle batsmen were unable to play shots at their will!

Malik picked up 2 wickets, Shinwari also took 2 important wickets in the game.

Galle Gladiators 135-9 in 20 overs (Bhanuka Rajapaksa (c) 40, Azam Khan 36; Shoaib Malik 13-2, Usman Shinwari 20-2)

Result: Jaffna Stallions won by 53 runs, became the champions of the first Lanka Premier League.
