The first and the second matches of the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Cup 2023 have been concluded with Sri Lanka A Women and Bangladesh A Women finding a win each in their respective matches. Sri Lanka A Women faced UAE Women and Bangladesh A Women faced Malaysia Women on the first day of the tournament.
The first match was between UAE Women and Sri Lanka A Women where UAE Women had elected to bat first after winning the toss. UAE Women made 95 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 19.3 overs. Esha Oza made the most 39 runs in 30 deliveries for the team in the match.
Madushika Methtananda took four wickets for Sri Lanka A Women with Malsha Shehani taking two wickets each. Sathya Sandeepani took a wicket to join the wicket-taking party.
Sri Lanka A Women made 96 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the second inning of the match and won the match by three wickets. Vishmi Gunaratne made the most 21 runs in 32 deliveries for the team in the match.
Esha Oza and Indhuja Nandakumar took two wickets for UAE Women with Chaya Mughal taking a wicket.
Sri Lanka A Women won the match by three wickets.
The second match was between Bangladesh A Women and Malaysia Women where Bangladesh A Women elected to bat first after winning the toss.
Bangladesh A Women made 148 runs for the loss of six wickets in the first inning of the match with Murshida Khatun making the most 57* runs in 44 deliveries.
Mahirah Izzati Ismail, Aisya Eleesa and Nur Dania Syuhada all took two wickets each in the match for Malaysia Women.
Malaysia Women made 51 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the second inning of the match with Ainna Hamizah Hashim making the most 13* runs in 31 deliveries.
Rabeya Khan took two wickets for Bangladesh A Women with Marufa Akter, Sanjida Akter Meghla, Nahida Akter and Sultana Khatun taking a wicket each.
Bangladesh A Women won the match by 97 runs.
After the completion of Day 1, Bangladesh A Women are on top of Group B with two points and 4.850 NRR followed by Sri Lanka A Women with two points and 0.090 NRR. UAE Women and Malaysia Women are in the third and fourth positions respectively in the Group Points Table.
