
Afghanistan who is currently in UAE as a part of the Afghanistan tour of UAE for a 3-match T20I series has won the T20I series 2-1 after they take a 6-wicket win over the hosts UAE in the final UAE vs Afghanistan match played today.
Afghanistan won the toss and elected to field first in the 3rd match of the series between UAE and Afghanistan.
Batting first, UAE made a solid 163/6 score on board in the first inning with Muhammad Waseem’s another quick-fire inning of 75 runs in 50 balls and Vriitya Aravind’s 59(53).
Rashid Khan and Gulbadin Naib took two wickets each for Afghanistan in the match. Naveen-ul-Haq took a wicket for the team in the match to join the party. Afghanistan conceded 15 runs to UAE while bowling.
Afghanistan while chasing the target started their inning with Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. While Rahmanullah was out for 20 runs off 15 balls, Ibrahim played till the end to lead the team to the win. He made 60 not-out runs off 51 balls in the match. Karim Janat also completed his half-century in the match as he made a quick 22-ball not-out 56 runs in the match. Afghanistan made 166/4 in 19.1 overs to win the match.
Zahoor Khan took two wickets for UAE in the match. Akif Raja and Zawar Farid also took a wicket each for the team in the match. UAE conceded 16 extras to Afghanistan while bowling.
With today’s win over UAE, Afghanistan won the 3-match T20I series in Abu Dhabi 2-1.
