The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) is set to begin construction on the highly anticipated Dwarka Stadium by the end of 2024. This state-of-the-art facility, covering 50.4 acres in Dwarka’s Sector 19B, will be DDA’s first sports infrastructure project developed through a public-private partnership. The project is in collaboration with real estate giant Omaxe.
Scheduled for completion by September 2027, the stadium will feature an international cricket-cum-football ground capable of seating 30,000 spectators. In addition to the main stadium, the project will include a range of indoor multisport facilities that can host 2,000 spectators. It comes along with a modern clubhouse offering 3,000 memberships. Designed to cater to various sports, the facility will provide amenities for swimming, tennis, badminton, squash, and table tennis. It will also include 3.5 lakh square feet of commercial space, featuring retail outlets, office spaces, and a hotel.
Significantly, the stadium’s facilities will be accessible to the general public on a pay-and-play basis. 25% of the amenities will be available to non-members. The concessionaire expects the stadium to host numerous international sporting events once operational. Dwarka stadium will enhance Delhi’s status as a key sports hub.
