The inaugural match will witness a clash between the Melbourne Stars and the Brisbane Heat, the runners-up of the previous season, promising a thrilling start to the 13th edition of the league.

Each of the eight teams is slated to play 10 games, facing four opponents once and the remaining three opponents twice during the league stage.

BBL 2024 Format
As the league progresses through its 40 games in the group stage, the top four teams will secure their spots in the playoffs. Meanwhile, the third and fourth-ranked teams will compete in the knockout round, with the loser being eliminated and the winner progressing to the challenger.
The ultimate face-off in the challenger round will see the winner challenging the loser of the qualifier. The team emerging victorious in the challenger round will earn the right to battle it out in the final against the winner of the qualifier, adding an extra layer of excitement to the BBL 2023-24 season.
