Barbados Royals bounced back from their previous loss to beat Jamaica Tallawahs by six wickets in the CPL 2023.
The Royals won the toss and opted to field first, and they made good use of the early overs. They took three wickets in the powerplay, and the Tallawahs were struggling at 25/3.
Shamarh Brooks and Raymon Reifer tried to rebuild the innings, but they were both dismissed by Qais Ahmad. However, Brooks’ 78 from 41 balls kept the Tallawahs in the game.
The Tallawahs finished on 160/7, which was a tricky total for the Royals to chase. They lost both Rahkeem Cornwall and Kyle Mayers in the powerplay, but Alick Athanaze and Laurie Evans put on a crucial partnership of 89.
The Royals eventually reached their target with 6 balls to spare, thanks to a late flourish from Rovman Powell and Jason Holder.
