Pakistan’s captain and World Number 1 ranked ODI batter, Babar Azam, is set to showcase his skills as he represents the Colombo Strikers in the upcoming Lanka Premier League (LPL). This marks the team’s inaugural participation in the tournament, and fans are eagerly anticipating Babar’s elegant batting style and his ability to dismantle bowling attacks.
With an astounding track record, Babar has accumulated a staggering 9,201 runs in 260 T20 matches, boasting an impressive average of 44.02. His tally includes nine centuries and 76 half-centuries, highlighting his consistent performance in the format.
In addition to his cricketing achievements, Babar Azam has made headlines as one of the first cricketers to enroll in the Harvard Business School’s executive education program. Alongside his Pakistan teammate Muhammad Rizwan, Babar recently engaged in a candid conversation with Sagar Khanna, the owner of the Colombo Strikers, discussing their preparations for the Lanka Premier League, set to commence on July 31.
The player auction for the tournament is scheduled for June 14, and the Colombo Strikers are eager to secure talented players to strengthen their squad. Alongside Babar, notable names such as Matheesha Pathirana, Naseem Shah, and Chamika Karunarathne have already been included in the team.
