Bangladesh go 2-0 up in style
Bangladesh produced a commanding all-round performance to secure a nine-wicket win over Netherlands in the second T20I in Sylhet, clinching the three-match series with a game to spare.
The visitors’ batting faltered yet again, folding for 103 in 17.3 overs, before Tanzid Hasan’s fluent unbeaten 54 off 40 balls led the hosts to victory inside 14 overs.
Nasum leads bowling charge
On a surface offering grip and bounce, Nasum Ahmed seized his chance after being drafted in for Rishad Hossain. The left-arm spinner removed Max O’Dowd and Teja Nidamanuru in successive deliveries, finishing with 3 for 21 in a spell that crippled the Dutch top order.
Taskin Ahmed (2/22) and Mustafizur Rahman (2/18) maintained pressure, striking at regular intervals, while Saif Hassan produced a brilliant run-out to cap an outstanding fielding effort after some early lapses.
Despite a spirited 30 from Aryan Dutt and 24 from Vikramjit Singh, Netherlands never recovered as they lost seven batters in single digits.
Tanzid seals it with style
The chase was a mere formality. Parvez Hossain Emon gave Bangladesh early impetus with 23 off 21 balls, before falling in the Powerplay. Tanzid Hasan, however, anchored the innings with composure. He mixed controlled aggression with clean hitting, raising his second T20I half-century in just 39 balls.
Captain Litton Das chipped in with a brisk cameo as Bangladesh crossed the finish line at 104/1 in 13.1 overs, registering their third-fastest successful chase in T20I history (non rain-affected).
