The 7th and 8th matches of the BPL featured today conclude between Fortune Barishal vs. Rangpur Riders and Sylhet Strikers vs. Dhaka Dominators. The Fortune Barishal and Sylhet Strikers won their respective matches in the 7th and 8th match of the BPL.
The first match of the day was played at the Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium and featured the Fortune Barishal against the Rangpur Riders.The Fortune Barishal won the toss and elected to bowl first.
In the first match of the day, the Rangpur Riders managed to score 158 runs in their 20 overs while batting first. Shoaib Malik 54(36) was the top run contributor for the team. In an entertaining encounter, the Fortune Barishal ultimately came out on top, securing a victory.
Chaturanga de Silva and Mehidy Hasan Miraz took two wickets each for the Fortune Barishal, while Karim Janat, Ebadot Hossain and Shakib Al Hasan took one wicket each. With the help of Ibrahim Zadran , who made 52 runs off 41 balls, the Fortune Barishal chased down their 159-run target in the last over, losing just four wickets in 19.2 overs to win the match by six wickets.
Sikandar Raza took two wickets , while Robiul Haque and Rakibul Hasan took one wicket each for Fortune Barishal. Mehidy Hasan Miraz was named Player of the Match for his 43 of 29 and 2/21 contribution for his team.
In the second match, Sylhet Strikers vs. Dhaka Dominators faced off at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, with Dhaka Dominators winning the toss and electing to field first.Sylhet Strikers managed to post a good total of 201/8 at the end of their 20 overs, with Towhid Hridoy and Najmul Hossain Shanto scoring 84 (46), and 57 (39), respectively.
Al-Amin Hossain took 3 wickets. Taskin Ahmed took 2 important wickets, while Ariful Haque, and Arafat Sunny each took one wicket for the Dhaka Dominators. In reply, the 19 Dhaka Dominators couldn’t reach a target. Dominators scored 139/10 in 19.3 overs and lost the game by 62 runs . Nasir Hossain made 44 runs off 35 balls for the Strikers.
