Cricket Australia has officially unveiled the complete fixture list for the 15th edition of the Big Bash League (BBL), with the season beginning on December 14, 2025, and culminating in the final on January 25, 2026.
The tournament opens at Optus Stadium, where Perth Scorchers will host Sydney Sixers in a high-octane clash between two of the league’s most decorated teams. Fans can look forward to action-packed evenings throughout the season, with no games scheduled only on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
In a bid to maintain a high-octane cricket calendar, Fox Cricket will broadcast every match live, including 10 exclusive telecasts, giving fans uninterrupted access to all the drama.
One of the most anticipated fixtures, the Melbourne Derby, is set for January 4 at the MCG, with a reverse fixture at Marvel Stadium just six days later. The Sydney Showdown will take place at ENGIE Stadium on December 20 and later at the SCG on January 16, ensuring fierce local rivalries are front and center.
Returning with flair, the New Year’s Eve encounter will feature Adelaide Strikers vs Brisbane Heat at Adelaide Oval, continuing a beloved tradition for cricket fans. Boxing Day will be a doubleheader with the Sixers and Scorchers hosting matches in Sydney and Perth respectively.
Notably, Marvel Stadium—under scrutiny last season for its pitch quality—will host only three matches, with Geelong’s Kardinia Park stepping in for two early-season games, providing a more suitable surface.
This season may also mark the return of Australia’s Test stars to BBL finals. With no international commitments between the New Year’s Ashes Test and the T20 World Cup in February, players like Pat Cummins and Steve Smith could feature in the playoff stages, depending on form and fitness.
“We’ve built this season with an eye on player availability,” said Alistair Dobson, General Manager of Big Bash Leagues. “There’s a genuine opportunity for some of our top players to rejoin the BBL and elevate the closing stages of the tournament.”
As anticipation builds, fans can expect a thrilling summer of cricket filled with big-hitting fireworks, rising domestic talent, and the potential return of international icons to Australia’s most entertaining T20 stage.
With over 40 matches scheduled across iconic venues, BBL 15 is shaping up to be one of the most tightly contested seasons yet.
