Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has made an exciting announcement, revealing his involvement in the Lanka Premier League. Dutt, along with his brothers Omar Khan (OK) and H.H. Sheikh Marwan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has acquired the B-Love Kandy Cricket Team for the upcoming T20 tournament.

Taking to Twitter, the Bollywood star expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “I, along with my brothers Omar Khan (OK) and H.H. Sheikh Marwan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, are excited to announce that we have acquired the B-Love Kandy Cricket Team for the Lanka Premier League T20 2023.”
The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023 is scheduled to commence on July 31 and run until August 15. This highly anticipated cricket tournament will feature five teams: Colombo Strikers, Dambulla Aura, Galle Titans, Jaffna Kings, and the newly acquired B-Love Kandy. These teams will engage in thrilling competition, facing each other twice in a double round-robin league format between July 31 and August 17.
Once the league matches conclude, the tournament will progress to the playoff stage. The Qualifiers 1 and 2 are set to be held on August 17 and August 19, respectively, with the Eliminator match also taking place on August 17. Finally, the much-awaited final is scheduled for August 20, with a reserve day allocated on August 21.
The Jaffna franchise, now known as the Kings, has emerged as a dominant force in the Lanka Premier League, winning all three previous editions of the tournament. Establishing themselves as the team to beat, they triumphed over the Galle franchise in the inaugural season and repeated their success against the same opponent in the following year.
In the most recent edition, the Jaffna Kings secured their third consecutive title by defeating the Colombo franchise. As the defending champions, they will undoubtedly pose a significant challenge for the competing teams in LPL 2023.
