The Barbados Royals kept their unbeaten record in the 2023 Massy Caribbean Premier League (WCPL) thanks to Erin Burns’ half-century.
The Amazon Warriors won the toss and batted first, but were restricted to 146-4 by the Royals’ bowlers. Sophie Devine (42) and Suzie Bates (30) put on 74 for the opening stand for the Amazon Warriors.
Amanda-Jade Wellington took 1-21 for the Royals. Natasha McLean gave a great impetus to the inning by scoring 38 for the Amazon Warriors.
In reply, the Royals chased down the target with four balls to spare. Burns and Wellington put on an unbeaten 42-run partnership for the fifth wicket to seal the win.
Burns top-scored for the Royals with 53 not out, while Wellington scored 15 not out.
The Royals won the game with four balls to spare.
