Nepal Premier League (NPL) have announced category division in Nepal Premier League 2024. Except of marquee player, the category is listed in 3 groups, namely Category A, Category B and Category C, which do not include local icon.
Base price and maximum price for different categories have also been publicized by Nepal Premier League (NPL).
For marquee players, base price is NRS. 20 LAKHS with maximum price set to NRS. 20 LAKHS.
For Category A players, base price is NRS. 10 LAKHS with maximum price NRS. 15 LAKHS.
For Category B players, base price is NRS. 5 LAKHS with maximum price NRS. 10 LAKHS.
For Category C players, base price is NRS. 2 LAKHS with maximum price NRS. 5 LAKHS.
Local icon will have fixed price.
Foreign players will go for team negotiation.
No. of players in a team
A team will consist of 16 players with one marquee player. Three players from Category A and 4 from Category B will be available in each team. Category C will bring three players to the team. NPL will promote local icon where a team will have one local icon each in their squad. About foreign players, 4 foreign players will be part of a team with one from associate nation as must.
Promoting associate cricketers
NPL will be promoting associate cricketers with the inclusion of one associate player as must in the foreign player category. A total of four players can be available in a squad as foreign player and among them, one must be associate player. This will promote associate cricketers. There are total of eight teams in the Nepal Premier League (NPL), it means we will see at least eight associate players in the league. While the price will be team negotiation for them also, but we will see talents from UAE, Netherlands, Malaysia, Scotland, likely. They will also get chance to share dressing-rooms with international stars from full members of International Cricket Council (ICC). This will boost the skills. They will get chance to learn from great stars of the game and can implement the skills in their game.
