Continent Cup T20 – Africa: Botswana and Kenya find wins on the second day

The second day of the Continent Cup T20 – Africa 2023 concluded with Botswana and Kenya finding wins from their respective matches by 33 runs and 88 runs respectively. While Botswana wins over Rwanda, Kenya find a win over Uganda in today’s matches.

Botswana vs Rwanda was the first match played today where Botswana made 169 runs for the loss of two wickets in the first inning of the match to set a strong 170 runs of target to Rwanda. Karabo Motlhanka with 75* runs in 59 deliveries was the batter to score the most for the team in the match.

Clinton Rubagumya and Martin Akayezu took a wicket each for Rwanda in the match. Rwanda conceded twenty-five extras to Botswana in the match.

Rwanda was summed up at 136 runs in 19.5 overs in the second inning of the match. Didier Ndikubwimana made the highest of 39 runs in 33 deliveries in the match for the team.

Dhruvkumar Maisuria and Katlo Piet took two wickets each for Botswana while Mmoloki Mooketsi and Losika Makgale taking a wicket each for the team in the match played today. Botswana conceded thirteen extras to Rwanda in the match.

Botswana won the match by 33 runs and Karabo Motlhanka from the winning side was the Player of the Match for his 75* runs in 59 deliveries.

Kenya vs Uganda was the second match played today where Kenya made a total of 185 runs for the loss of three wickets in the first inning of the match to set a strong 186 runs of target to Uganda. Collins Obuya made the most 96* runs in 60 deliveries for the team in the match. Rakep Patel contributed 52 runs in 24 deliveries for the team in the match.

Frank Nsubuga took two wickets for Uganda in the match. Uganda conceded five extras to Kenya in the match.

Uganda was summed up at 97 runs in 14.1 overs against Kenya in the match. Roger Mukasa was the player to score the most 45 runs in 25 deliveries for the team in the match.

Shem Ngoche and Vraj Patel took four wickets each for Kenya in the match with Rakep Patel finding a wicket in his name. Kenya conceded three extras to Uganda in the match played.

Kenya won the match by 88 runs and COllins Obuya from Kenya was the Player of the Match for his astonishing 96* in 60 deliveries in the match.

Kenya with four points is the group leader after day 2 of the series concluded. Botswana with two points is at number two followed by Uganda with equal points and less NRR than Botswana. Rwanda who is at the fourth position is still to find a win in the series.
