Pakistan’s young batting sensation Saim Ayub is set to make his T20I debut alongside Tayyab Tahir, Zaman Khan, and Ihsanullah in the three-match series against Afghanistan in Sharjah. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced their selection, and Saim is looking forward to giving his best for the national side.
Saim Ayub Confident of Making Pakistan Proud on T20I Debut Against Afghanistan
In an interview, Saim expressed his excitement to wear the green jersey and represent his country. “Every time I played cricket, I just aimed to wear the green jersey one day. I will try my best to make my country proud of my performance,” he said.
Saim is expected to open Pakistan’s batting with Mohammad Haris, and he is confident about their partnership. “My chemistry with Haris is good. Our batting style is the same, and it will be fun batting alongside him,” he added.
The left-handed batter earned his maiden call to the Pakistan team after his impressive performance for Peshawar Zalmi in Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8. Saim opened the innings alongside skipper Babar for Zalmi in the recently concluded PSL 8, scoring 341 runs in 12 matches.
With Babar Azam and Rizwan resting during the Afghanistan series, Saim and Mohammad Haris are expected to open Pakistan’s batting. Saim is determined to keep the respect of the star on his chest and make his country proud on his debut.
