On Friday, the official team anthem of Peshawar Zalmi for the eighth season of the Pakistan Super League was released. The anthem, titled “ZalmiRaalal,” features well-known faces from the entertainment industry, Hamza Ali Abbasi, and Mahira Khan. The famous British-Pakistani DJ Shahid Khan, also known as Naughty Boy, produced the anthem.
The trilingual song was sung by Zahoor, Bilaal Avaz, and Altamash Sever Butt, with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa-based musical band Khumariyan providing a mesmerizing instrumental part. The video of the anthem was directed by Hassan Dawar and features Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam and head coach Daren Sammy.
It is worth noting that the 2017 PSL champions, Zalmi, started their PSL 8 campaign on a positive note with a nail-biting victory against Karachi Kings on Tuesday. The team led by Babar Azam will play against the 2021 PSL champions Multan Sultans on Friday in the fifth match of the tournament at Multan Cricket Stadium.
