Mignon du Preez has replaced her current South African captain Dane van Niekerk in the Southern Vipers’ squad for the upcoming Women’s Cricket Super League in England, starting August 10.
Defending champions Vipers, led by former English skipper Charlotte Edwards, open their campaign against last year’s runners-up Western Storm on the opening day of the tournament. all-rounder van Niekerk pulled out of the second edition of the tournament due to an intra-muscular tear in her right thigh, shortly after South Africa bowed out of the 2017 Women’s World Cup last month.
