The management of Lahore Qalandars is brimming with excitement as they embark on a talent hunt in Zimbabwe to discover young and promising cricketers. With the ownership of Durban Qalandars in the Zim Afro T10, Lahore Qalandars organized a two-day trial in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The call for talent trials presented a golden opportunity for cricketers in Harare, and around 200 players eagerly participated in the trials under the guidance of former Test cricketer Aaqib Javed. The trials aimed to identify talented individuals who could represent Durban Qalandars in the Zim Afro T10 tournament, which is scheduled to take place from July 20th to 29th.
Craig Ervine, an experienced cricketer from Zimbabwe, has been appointed as the captain of Durban Qalandars. Ervine recently led Zimbabwe in the ICC World Cup Qualifiers at home, narrowly missing out on qualification.
The squad for Durban Qalandars includes notable players such as Sisanda Magala, George Linde, Asif Ali, Hazratullah Zazai, Mohammad Amir, Tim Seifert, Hilton Cartwright, Mirza Tahir Baig, Tayyab Abbas, Craig Ervine (c), Tendai Chatara, Brad Evans, Clive Madande, Nick Welch, and Andre Fletcher.
The selected players will gather in Harare on Sunday, July 16th, where they will undergo three days of preparation ahead of the tournament. This will provide them with an opportunity to familiarize themselves with the team dynamics and strategize for a successful campaign in the Zim Afro T10.
