England’s Harry Brook and Jonny Bairstow put on a masterclass with the bat, scoring 67 and 86 respectively, as England posted a massive 198-4.

Fast bowler Gus Atkinson then took 4-20 on his T20 international debut as New Zealand crumbled to 103 all out.

Brook and Bairstow’s partnership was the cornerstone of England’s innings. They put on 135 runs for the third wicket, and their aggressive batting put New Zealand on the back foot from the start.

Brook was particularly impressive, hitting sixes at will and scoring 67 from just 36 balls. Bairstow was more sedate, but he still contributed 86 from 60 balls.

New Zealand’s batters were never able to answer the England bowlers, and they were eventually bowled out for 103.

Atkinson was the pick of the bowlers, taking 4-20. He was well supported by Adil Rashid, who took 2-18.

The win gives England a 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

The series continues at Edgbaston on Sunday.
