The atmosphere is charged with anticipation as Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10 gets ready to have a blockbuster start this Friday. But ahead of the first ball being bowled, Multan Sultans captain Mohammad Rizwan has raised eyebrows with an explosive remark that has supporters and experts searching for hints.
During the PSL 2025 press conference, Rizwan, famous for his calm nature, dropped a bombshell without mentioning names:
“Everyone knows what’s going on. Each person is responsible for what they have control over.” The statement, ambiguous but piercing, follows Pakistan’s poor New Zealand tour, during which the national team won just one game out of eight.
Was this a subtle jibe at team management? A demand for responsibility? Or merely a skipper stirring his men? Whatever the motive, the timing couldn’t be more incendiary—exactly 24 hours from Islamabad United and Lahore Qalandars facing off in the tournament opener at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
PSL 10: A Festival of Cricket—And Redemption?
This year’s version guarantees fireworks, with 34 high-voltage matches in four cities. Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium has the grand finale, Karachi and Multan get their fair share of thrillers. But beneath the glamour, the tournament is an opportunity for Pakistan’s stars to stage a comeback after a series of poor outings.
For the Sultans, things are more serious. With the likes of Iftikhar Ahmed, power hitters, pace ace Mohammad Hasnain, and foreign stars David Willey and Chris Jordan, Rizwan’s team is a dark horse. But will his captaincy—and that enigmatic remark—hold them together or tear them apart?
