Fakhar Zaman Early Life
Fakhar Zaman was born on April 10, 1990, in Mardan, North-West Frontier Province. At the age of 16, he moved to Karachi after completing his matriculation.
Fakhar Zaman Cricket Life
In 2007, Zaman joined the Pakistan Navy as a sailor, where he learned to survive the seas. He also played cricket while serving in the navy. Zaman’s dream of playing for Pakistan international Cricket Team came true when he was called up to play the shortest format of cricket against West Indies in March 2017. He made his Twenty20 International debut for Pakistan against West Indies on March 30, 2017. Zaman also played for Lahore Qalandars in PSL 2017. In the 2016 Pakistan Cup, he became the second-highest run-scorer, with 297 runs at an average of 59.40. Zaman’s name came to prominence in the Quaid e Azam trophy 2016-17 season, where he scored 663 runs with an average of 51.
Fakhar Zaman International Career
In April 2017, Zaman was selected for Pakistan’s ODI squad for the 2017 ICC Champions Trophy, where he made his One Day International debut against South Africa, scoring 31 runs. He was also awarded the Man of the Match in the one-day match against India at The Oval, London on June 18, 2017. Zaman was selected to play in Pakistan’s Test squad for their tours to Ireland and England in May 2018, but he could not play due to injury. Zaman was the first-ever batsman of Pakistan to score a double century in an ODI. He received the title of the first Pakistani batsman to score 500 or more runs in any T20 International match. He was selected in Pakistan’s team for Cricket World Cup 2019 in April 2019.
