The SA20 Season 4 Player Auction is fast approaching, with just one week remaining for cricketers worldwide to register for the highly anticipated event in Johannesburg on 9 September 2025. The registration deadline for both local and overseas players is Monday, 18 August 2025 at 17h00 SAST.
This year’s auction promises to be the biggest in the league’s history, with six franchises collectively holding a maximum purse of R131 million to fill 84 remaining slots across 19-player squads.
The pre-signed and retained lists already boast a stellar line-up, including West Indies icons Nicholas Pooran, Andre Russell, and Sunil Narine, along with England’s World Cup-winning stars Jos Buttler and Jonny Bairstow.
The hammer will also fall on top South African talent, such as Aiden Markram, Lungi Ngidi, Dewald Brevis, and rising pace sensation Kwena Maphaka, making for high-stakes bidding under the direction of renowned auctioneer Richard Madeley.
