There is reportedly no dearth of talent for Sunrisers Hyderabad to retain a healthy core for IPL 2025, but Heinrich Klaasen is the biggest retention they have managed. For the SRH retention list in IPL 2025, Heinrich Klaasen will be paid a whopping INR 23 crore-more than a few crore from what he was paid before. The South African wicketkeeper-batsman has been phenomenal, scoring 927 runs across two seasons at a strike rate of 174.
Alongside Klaasen, the SRH retention list for IPL 2025 comprises the retention of Australian skipper Pat Cummins for INR 18 crore (USD 2.14 million approx.). Pat Cummins has proven invaluable both as a player and as a leader of the team that reached the final of IPL 2024. His retention costs less than what he had to pay last season, as Cummins earned INR 20.5 crore from IPL 2024. In the new season, the side would have him lead the team and maintain the momentum they have managed to achieve lately.
Abhishek Sharma is also part of the SRH retention list for IPL 2025, whose price has reached INR 14 crore (USD 1.67 million approx.). Sharma scored 484 runs at a hot strike rate of 204.21 during the IPL 2024 and has seen his value more than double his 2022 mega auction price of INR 6.5 crore. Apart from these, SRH are likely to finalize the retentions of Travis Head and Nitish Kumar Reddy to see more strength in their squad ahead of the mini-auction of IPL.
The retention date set by IPL is 31st October. SRH retention for IPL 2025 indicates that they wanted to make a further leap from the success of reaching the playoffs of IPL 2024.
