France Women Tour of Austria: France Women leads the series 2-0 after the first day’s matches

France Cricket to host 4-nation Women’s T20I tournament

France Women is currently touring Austria for a 5-match bilateral T20I Series and today was the first day of the series. France Women have beaten Austria Women in both the matches played today in the series.

In the first match of the series, Austria Women had won the toss and elected to field first.

Batting first, France Women made 122 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the match. Amy Seddon was the top run-scoring batter for the team in the match with 33 runs in 36 deliveries.

Sushma Kittimani took two wickets for Austria Women in the match with Mahadewa Pathirannehelage, Valentina Avdylaj and Jo-Antoinette Stiglitz taking a wicket each.

Austria Women were all out for 79 runs in 17.5 overs of the second inning of the match. Jo-Antoinette Stiglitz was the top run-scoring batter for the team in the match with 21 not-out runs in 27 deliveries; she was also the only batter from the team to score in double-digits in the match.

Anika Bester and Emma Patel took two wickets each for France Women in the match with Wykes-Templeman and Marie Emmanuelle Violleau taking a wicket each.

France Women won the first match of the series by 62 runs.

In the second match of the series, France Women won the toss and elected to bat first.

Batting first, France Women made 156 runs for the loss of four wickets. Poppy McGeown was the top run-scorer for the team with 61* runs in 48 deliveries.

Ashmaan Saifee took two wickets for Austria Women in the match with Valentina Avdylaj and Jo-Antoinette Stiglitz taking a wicket each.

Austria Women made 94 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the second inning of the match. Jo-Antoinette Stiglitz made the most runs for the team with 23 runs in 19 deliveries followed by Andrea-Mae Zepeda with 21 runs in 31 deliveries.

Thea Graham took three wickets for France Women in the match with Anika Bester, Emma Patel and Marie Emmanuelle Violleau taking a wicket each.

France Women won the second match of the series by 62 runs.
