Guyana Amazon Warriors moved to the top of the CPL with a comfortable win over the Patriots.
The Patriots won the toss and elected to field, but the Warriors made a good start to the PowerPlay, racing to 32 runs in the first three overs. However, Oshane Thomas struck twice in the fourth over to reduce the Warriors to 55-4.
The Guyanese side recovered through a 57-run partnership between Shimron Hetmyer and Keemo Paul, but they were still in trouble at 112-5 at the halfway stage.
Dwaine Pretorius and Paul then put on a quickfire 48-run partnership to take the Warriors to 186-6, a total that proved too much for the Patriots.
The Patriots never got going in their chase, losing four wickets in the PowerPlay to be reduced to 43-4. They were eventually bowled out for 88, giving the Warriors a comfortable 98-run victory.
The win means the Warriors remain the only unbeaten side in the CPL 2023.
