Pakistani pacer Haris Rauf has finally joined the Melbourne Stars for the ongoing Big Bash League (BBL) season 13 after receiving his No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Rauf’s arrival comes after a period of delay and speculation surrounding his participation.

Rauf’s presence was confirmed by the Melbourne Stars on social media, stating “Look who’s here,” alongside a photo of the fast bowler. He joins fellow Pakistani players Usama Mir and Imad Wasim (who is yet to travel) in the Stars squad.

Rauf’s late arrival stemmed from his decision to pull out of the recent Test series against Australia, raising concerns about his commitment and fitness. Despite facing criticism for his decision, Chief Selector Wahab Raiz confirmed that the PCB had tried to facilitate Rauf’s participation in both the BBL and the Test series.

The Melbourne Stars have also introduced exciting initiatives to welcome Pakistani fans. A designated seating area called “Pakistan Bay” has been created on level 1 of the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), offering a unique experience for cricket enthusiasts. Additionally, an exclusive “House of Rauf” membership provides fans with unparalleled access to the action.

With Rauf’s arrival and the special fan initiatives in place, the Melbourne Stars are set to create a memorable BBL season for players and fans alike.
