A new chapter in cricketing history is about to be written as Nepal vs West Indies becomes a reality this September. The two nations will meet in a groundbreaking three-match T20I series in Sharjah, UAE — marking the first-ever bilateral series between them.
For the West Indies, this series acts as a valuable checkpoint as they begin refining strategies ahead of the 2026 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. On the other hand, Nepal will view these fixtures as vital match practice before embarking on their Asia/East Asia-Pacific Qualifier campaign, where a World Cup spot is at stake.

More than just cricket, this Nepal vs West Indies series carries emotional and symbolic weight. Cricket West Indies CEO Chris Dehring praised the initiative, calling it “a testament to what cricket represents: pride, purpose, and the power of unity.” His statement underscores the significance of such collaborations, especially when an emerging team like Nepal gets to test itself against a two-time world champion.
Dehring further emphasized the importance of supporting Nepal during this pivotal stage in their cricketing rise. “We are proud to stand with Nepal at this moment in their history,” he noted, adding that the Caribbean side looks forward to exciting and hard-fought matches in Sharjah.
Nepal’s recent performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, nearly toppling South Africa in a nail-biting one-run loss and dismantling Bangladesh’s top-order in the powerplay, signals they are not just here to participate but to compete.
With all three matches set to be played in Sharjah, fans can expect a blend of flair, fight, and emerging talent on display. The Nepal vs West Indies series kicks off on September 27, followed by back-to-back matches on September 28 and September 30.
