After players went through isolation and all the precautionary restrictions, Big Bash League’s 10th edition kicked off at the Bellerive Oval, Hobart. In the opener, Hobart defeated the defending champions by 16 runs.

Batting first Hobart put 178 with the help of Tim David and Colin Ingram’s 58 and 55 respectively. Ben Dwarshuis picked up 3 wickets for the Sixers.

In the run-chase Stars failed short 16 runs, James Vince and Jack Edwards contributed with the bat well, but their team unable to chase down the target set by Hurricanes. Faulkner picked up 2 wickets.

Tim David (Player of the Match):

“It wasn’t an ideal start, but the openers are good players but that happens sometimes. We batted well enough in the end, and our bowling did extremely well to get us through. A lot of new guys in our group who have really bonded well together and have contributed together as a team tonight.”
