After a gap of seven years, Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is prepared for its comeback with grandiose events scheduled from November 1 to 3, 2024. Organized by Cricket Hong Kong, China, and sanctioned by the International Cricket Council, this is going to be an enthralling display of cricket in its fastest format.

Did you know? Hong Kong Cricket Sixes is a six-a-side tournament

The event is due to be held at the Tin Kwong Road Cricket Ground in Hong Kong, with this year’s tournament to be contested by 12 nations over three days. This just about repeats the world-class city status of Hong Kong and cites it as the sports capital in East Asia. With its legacy dating back to 1992, CHK Chairperson Burji Shroff has huge plans for the Hong Kong Sixes to become a global series.

“We are excited to bring back this iconic event that showcases our city as a truly world city and a sporting capital of East Asia to the world and our cricket credentials. The strategic plan is to develop the Hong Kong Sixes into a global series, culminating every year with the grand finale at home,” said Chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong, China Burji Shroff.

It has had the likes of Shahid Afridi, MS Dhoni, and Glenn Maxwell, and major cricketing nations in participation, such as Pakistan, India, South Africa, and Australia. South Africa tops the list regarding titles with England, while Pakistan is not too far behind to be defending champions themselves.

As the event is going to make a comeback after so long, the enthusiasm of its fans is already high, and the event also intends to establish Hong Kong’s credibility in cricket in front of a global audience besides elevating the city to an international sports hub.
