The Falcons finally registered their first win of the season, defeating Trinbago Knight Riders (TKR) by 6 runs. In a thrilling match, the Falcons’ bowlers held their nerve to defend a small total. This victory brought some relief and confidence to the squad. - 11th Match (Sep 8) – Win against SNP by 2 wickets
Riding high on their recent win, the Falcons earned back-to-back victories, defeating SNP by 2 wickets. This close encounter saw all-rounder Justin Greaves play a crucial role in securing the win. - 13th Match (Sep 12) – Loss to BR by 10 runs (DLS method)
The Falcons faced Barbados Royals again, and this time rain played a part, as they lost by 10 runs via the DLS method. Despite Justin Greaves’ best efforts, they couldn’t chase down the target. - 17th Match (Sep 16) – Loss to SLK by 26 runs
St. Lucia Kings dominated the Falcons once again, securing a 26-run victory. The batting lineup failed to fire under pressure, continuing the team’s struggle to remain consistent. - 20th Match (Sep 20) – Win against TKR by 6 wickets
In their final win of the season, the Falcons defeated TKR by 6 wickets, thanks to a solid all-round performance. However, it was too little, too late for the new CPL franchise. - 23rd Match (Sep 22) – Loss to GAW by 27 runs
The Falcons’ season ended with a 27-run loss to Guyana Amazon Warriors. Despite some individual brilliance, the team couldn’t pull off a final victory.
Key Performers for the Falcons
Justin Greaves was the standout for the Falcons, amassing 225 runs from seven matches and finishing as the team’s leading scorer. His best innings was a composed 61* against Barbados Royals. Shamar Springer also delivered with the ball, taking 12 wickets in eight innings.
Though the new CPL franchise finished second last, the Antigua and Barbuda Falcons showed glimpses of promise, and with some adjustments, they could be strong contenders in future seasons.
