How much PSL players earn?
The PSL salary categories range from the elite Platinum category to the emerging players’ tier. Here’s a breakdown of the earnings for players in each category:
Platinum Category:
PSL Salary: Rs. 2,30,44,000 ($104,866)
Details: Each team has the privilege of selecting up to 3 players from the Platinum category, representing the crème de la crème of talent. The Platinum category boasts the highest pay scale, reflecting the exceptional skills and experience these players bring to the PSL.
Diamond Category:
PSL Salary: Rs. 1,15,22,000 ($52,433)
Details: Teams can choose 3 players from the Diamond category, making it the second-highest paid tier. The Diamond category includes players with significant prowess, contributing substantially to the team’s success on the field.
Gold Category:
PSL Salary: Rs. 82,30,000 ($37,452)
Details: This category allows franchises to select 3 players, each recognized for their valuable contributions to the game. The Gold category is a crucial segment, providing teams with impactful players to strengthen their lineups.
Silver Category:
PSL Salary: Rs. 41,15,000 ($18,726)
Details: Franchises have the flexibility to choose 5 players from the Silver category. These players, while not in the top-tier salary range, play a vital role in shaping the team’s strategy and performance.
Emerging Category:
PSL Salary: Rs. 16,46,000 ($7,490)
Details: The Emerging category, designed to nurture and promote young talent, allows each franchise to sign up to 2 emerging players. Despite being the entry-level category in terms of salary, it serves as a stepping stone for emerging talents to showcase their skills on a grand stage.
