The ICC has agreed to a hefty budget of USD 70 million for the 2025 Champions Trophy, which the International Cricket Council will host in Pakistan. A detailed schedule with match fixtures, warm-up matches, and various activities has already been dispatched to participating team boards and broadcasters. This schedule will be finalized after consultations with all relevant boards.
In the proposed schedule, if everything goes well, the opening ceremony is scheduled to take place in Karachi, while the closing ceremony will be held in Lahore. This budget has been set for all expenditures related to the support period, February 12-18 and the main trophy matches from February 19 to March 9, with March 10 reserved as a reserve day for the final.
Warm-up matches will be held during the support period. The ICC, in consultation with the teams, shall determine the warm-up matches, subject to the proviso that each team shall play no more than two warm-up games. Such matches are to be staged in three cities: Lahore, Karachi, and a third city yet to be confirmed.
All activities during the support period will be determined jointly by the ICC and the PCB to allow for the smooth running of the event. Detailed schedules have been provided to teams and broadcasters to assist with their preparations. Final proposals and details will be confirmed post consultations with all concerned parties.
