Get ready for a T20 spectacle as the DP World ILT20 Season 2 kicks off tomorrow, January 19th! This six-team League, organized by the Emirates Cricket Board and granted List A status by the ICC, promises a month of thrilling cricket.
Star Power Galore:
The six teams are brimming with legendary cricketers and rising stars who have shone in both T20 cricket and the recent ICC World Cup. Over 100 international players, including David Warner, Shaheen Afridi, Sunil Narine, Dwayne Bravo, Nicholas Pooran, Alex Hales, Shadab Khan, Rovman Powell, Dasun Shanaka, Sikandar Raza, and many more, are primed to light up the stage.
Venue Trifecta:
The action will unfold across three magnificent venues: Dubai International Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium, and Abu Dhabi Zayed Cricket Stadium. Dubai will host 15 matches, including the final, while Abu Dhabi and Sharjah will host 11 and 8 matches respectively. Night matches will commence at 6.30 PM, while weekend day matches will start at 2.30 PM.
Opening Clash and More:
The opening match between the defending champions Gulf Giants and Sharjah Warriors takes place at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on January 19th at 6.30 PM UAE time. Top umpires led by Simon Taufel and Aleem Dar will ensure fair play, while cricket legends like Wasim Akram, Waqar Younis, Virender Sehwag, Shoaib Akhtar, and Harbhajan Singh will grace the commentary box.
