IPL 2023: PBKS finds win over KKR in DLS method

The second match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 concluded with PBKS finding a seven runs win over KKR.

Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and elected to field first in the match.

Batting first, Punjab Kings made 191 runs in their inning losing five wickets to set the solid target of 192 runs to Kolkata Knight Riders. Bhanuka Rajapaksa from the Kings made 50 runs before being out. He departed for 50 runs off 32. Shikhar Dhawan made 40 runs off 29 to be the player to score the second most runs for the team. Sam Curran and Prabhsimran Singh contributed 26*(17) and 23(12) in the match for the Kings.

Tim Southee took two wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders with Umesh Yadav, Sunil Narine and Varun Chakravarthy taking a wicket each. Kolkata Knight Riders conceded four extras to Punjab Kings while bowling.

Kolkata Knight Riders made 146 runs at the loss of seven wickets in 16 overs in the second inning before the rain affected the match. After the rain sustained for a longer period of time, the match went to the DLS method and the result was decided accordingly where Punjab Kings won the match by seven runs. Andre Russell made the most 35 runs off 19 for the team in the match.

Arshdeep Singh took three wickets for Punjab Kings in the match with Sam Curran, Nathan Ellis, Sikandar Raza and Rahul Chahar taking a wicket each. Punjab Kings conceded six extras to Kolkata Knight Riders while bowling.

Arshdeep Singh was the Player of the Match for his 3/19 in bowling.
